The International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC)

The International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC) at Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU) aims to establish optimum conditions for doctoral candidates focussing on the study of culture. The GCSC fosters high-profile interdisciplinary research in clearly defined research areas. With the founding of the Giessen Graduate School for the Humanities (GGK) in 2001, the university implemented a pioneering model for the reform of graduate studies in the humanities and social sciences and thus provided the foundation upon which the vision for the GCSC was built.
